My 2022 Goals

On the 23rd December 2022, I turn 30. So, I gave myself the aim of achieving some hefty goals so I can enter my 30s with my life up straight. At the start of this year, I set myself a series of goals, some are going well, and others… are not.

1. Post 365 articles to Medium

Stretch Goal: 400.

As of 31st January, I had posted 31 blog posts in 31 days. So I’m exactly on track, and it is going well. I’ve never kept up a challenge this long, so I’m very happy that this is starting to become a habit. However, it is starting to take over my brain, as I’m constantly reminding myself that I need to write, but I’m sure I’ll figure out a process for this.

2. Post 365 videos to TikTok

Stretch Goal: 400.

I’ve only managed one published video and two unpublished drafts this month, but I’m confident I can catch up. I’ve given in to my anxiety a little, but I know I can get it back on track with a video every day. Due to time retrains, this is on the back foot, but with my new planning system, which I’ll talk about in a moment, I will be back on top of it in no time.

3. Post 365 feed posts on my personal brand Instagram

Stretch Goal: 400.

I managed four posts on my personal brand Instagram account, and I have some pictures to post, so I’m ok with the progress. I will block in some time to create more content too. I have a plan; I just need to organise my time a little better.

4. Hit 1,000 Followers on my personal brand Instagram.

Stretch Goal: 3,000.

I currently have 45 followers, but that’s not surprising as I haven’t posted much. I will work on building out my profile and gathering followers.

5. Post 365 feed posts on my agency brand Instagram

Stretch Goal: 400.

As with my personal brand, time was a struggle this month, so not a lot of progress was made. However, I will make more time for working on my business in February.

6. Read 14 Books

Stretch Goal: 20.

So far, I’ve read one book — Death at Victoria Dock by Kerry Greenwood, part of the Phyrne Fisher Murders series. I’ve always loved the TV show, so I wanted to work my way through the book series. The books are much darker than the TV show and lack the energy the show had, but the books are good in their own right.

7. Launch Apputee

I haven’t made a lot of progress this month.

Learnings and Personal Development

University started up this month, with Accounting, which I hate, and Sustainability Marketing as my units, which is fascinating. So swings and roundabouts, really.

In addition, I’ve found a free mentoring service which has been incredible. I feel amazing! I’ve never been particularly organised, and now my mentor has given me some amazing project management tips and ways to plan. I have two weeks to put a plan together and organise myself.
